Jason Mercier is player of the WSOP
While the fate of the world championship will only be decided in November when the November Nine fight it out and since none of the group have had multiple achievements at this year's WSOP, we already know who's the player of the tournament.
Jason Mercier is the undoubted hero of this summer's poker series, gaining 200 points on his closest rival. He is also the only player to break the 2000 point marker, so the title is well deserved, with a confident and consistent performance at five different events.
